জনাব মাহমুদউল হক ভূঁইয়া

Mahmudul Huq Bhuiyan joined the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission in February 2017 as member. He did his Honors and Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Dhaka. He joined the Bangladesh Civil Service in 1982 batch in BCS (Audit & Accounts) Cadre. 

 

Prior joining BERC, he was the national consultant for the project “National Public Financial Management” of World Bank under Ministry of Finance.  He retired as an Additional Secretary. Before that, he was the Chairman of Bangladesh Sugar & Food Industries Corporation. He was also the Director General of Department of Jute, Ministry of Textiles & Jute. As joint Secretary, Budget-2 Wing, Finance Division, he supervised national budget preparation and implementation of the Public Financial Management reforms initiatives. He was Additional Director General of Bangladesh Water Development Board. He also worked as Deputy Secretary in ERD and Deputy Secretary, Public Expenditure Review Commission of Ministry of Finance. He worked as Director, Finance, Bangladesh Railway and as Chief Account Officer of Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat, Ministry of Communication, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ministry of Establishment (now MOPA) and Cabinet Division. He was Upazila Magistrate & Magistrate First Class in 1984. However, he was also the Director of the IFIC Bank, NIB Bank of Pakistan, and of the Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited.

 

He participated in many training programs in Bangladesh such as - Policy Planning and Management Course, Development Program of MATT-2, Senior Staff Course, and Advanced Course on Administration & Development. He also participated in some courses like “Public-Private Partnerships for Infrastructure in Korea”, “Finance for Sub-national and Local Governments” and “Certificate in Public Accounts and Audit” in U.K. “Financial Administration in Government” in Australia.

 

He was born in 1955 in Dhaka. He has traveled many countries in Asia, Middle East, Europe and America. He is fond of travelling and reading books.
